My Expanded N Scale Layout

I am almost ready to build the tables to put the layout on. I will need to build 3 or 4 4X8 tables where I can set up the track. I will have 2 loops in the configuration shown above. One loop will fit inside the other. On the inner loop I will run a Canadian Pacific Freight Train. On the outer loop I will run a Canadian National Freight Train. I still need to buy the balance of the track that I need, I have most of it already. I am thinking I am still about 2 years away from completing the tables and track.

The Expanded N Scale Layout

The Expanded N scale layout will be 2 tracks that run parallel following the basic design shown above. The inner track will feature the Canadian Pacific Railway. and the outer track will feature the Canadian National Railway. Both railways will be depicted by Freight trains. There will be considerably more space between the 2 end loops shown above to allow for a much longer streight away section and also allowing the operator room to walk between the end loops. to allow ease in landscaping and fixing any derailments.

The New Canadian Pacific Paint Scheme

On the expanded N scale layout I have decided to go with the new Canadian Pacific paint scheme. I have the GE ES44AC GEVO locomotives on order and have started to save my money so I can afford them.
They should be arriving at Mountain Town Hobbies in a couple of weeks. I will use the older CP Rail paint scheme on my Coffee table layout.
I have yet to locate rolling stock for the new paint scheme but I am sure that over time the manufacturers will be producing plenty of it.

Yesterday I got word that the Canadian Pacific Locomotives have arrived at Mountain Town Hobbies in Mt. Pleasant Michigan.

I have yet to get together the rolling stock I need to support the Canadian Pacific Freight Train I am putting together.

I am still waiting for the Canadian National Locomotives to come in from Walthers they were supposed to ship December 28th 2014 but the shipping date was revised by Walthers to Jan 28th 2015. once they come in my Canadian National Freight train will be complete.

I Have All The Canadian National Rolling Stock I Need

I now have all of the rolling stock I need for the Canadian National N scale layout I am putting together. I have 2 40 foot boxcars, 2 50 foot reefers, 1 60 foot boxcar, and 1 50 foot double door boxcar, 2 tank cars, 2 coal hoppers, and 2 gondolas and finnaly a baywindow caboose. This makes up a very nice freight train for the outer loop.

Front Half of the Freight Train

Back Half of the Freight Train

I figure it will take me a few years to get together everything I will need for the entire layout. The inner loop will be a Canadian Pacific freight train.
