A Little More Paint ...

I took three old Boxcars and painted two of them light orange and one blue like the prototypes, boxcars numbered 2004, 60000 and 1994, and created some more decals to place on the Boxcars. The next thing I knew I had three Tuscola and Saginaw Bay Boxcars. I plan to make a number of Hoppers and Boxcars using the Great Lakes Central Photo Roster as the source. So far the four cars I have custom painted have turned out real well.

Boxcar #60000

My versions look like this:

Mid May 2013 and Still No Pere Marquette EMD E7A Locomotives

The Pere Marquette named train offered by Walthers has been met with one delay after another. I finally received all the passenger cars, but now the locomotives are not expected until 28-Jun-2013. They were supposed to be here the end of March then later projected for the end of April. It seems to have been one thing after another. I can't wait. That will complete the set when locomotives number #103 and #105 come in.

A Little Paint and ...

I took an old Ann Arbor Centerflow hopper and I painted over the markings in a very light gray. Then I designed decals for a covered hopper owned by the Great Lakes Central Railroad which still uses the TSBY markings of the old Tuscola and Saginaw Bay Railway I used a photo of car number 97040 as my source. I printed the decals on decal paper and placed the the decals on the painted hopper. they came out great. I now have a Tuscola and Saginaw Bay covered hopper.

Change of Plans

With the out of stock situation regarding my attempt to purchase an Ann Arbor locomotive, compounded by the fact that another Ann Arbor locomotive that I already have broke down yesterday, I am changing my freight train configuration from only Ann Arbor to a mixture of Ann Arbor and Tuscola and Saginaw Bay. I am pulling a lot of rolling stock so I need a minimum of two locomotives to pull it all. Hopefully by the end of the next month (June) I will have two Tuscola and Saginaw Bay GP35's and one Ann Arbor GP38 doing the job.
Currently I am using a current day Ann Arbor GP38 and an Ann Arbor GP35 with The Detroit Toledo and Ironton paint scheme and a Tuscola and Saginaw Bay GP35.
