Red Means STOP

STOP
Signal Review:

STOP is associated with a clear indication, whether it be a lone RED on a high signal, a R/R, or R/R/R.


Swung at right angles to track STOP

STOP
Swung horizontally above the head when standing APPLY AIR BRAKES
STOP APPLY AIR BRAKES

TRAIN HAS PARTED! This tells the trainmen that cars have come loose. Swing up and down in a circle at fill arm's length when the train is running.
STOP TRAIN HAS PARTED (uncoupled)!
If the blade is horizontal the semaphore signal means STOP.

If the train is running, Two short whistle blasts indicate the train will STOP.
